Simpplrโs Employee Listening suite was getting the job done, but it was scattered across five different tools.
Users had to decode our internal product jargon just to ask their teams a simple question.
I believe software should be opinionated and delightful to use to be truly functional - so I knew we needed to ditch the fragmented approach and build a unified, intent-first experience.
Impact
The problem
I audited exactly where we stood; we had a suite that was functionally rich but structurally siloed, tangled up in a messy mix of core features and paid add-ons.
That friction made it tough to compete with slick, standalone platforms like Culture Amp or Viva Glint. What we needed was a cohesive vision.
The insights and research findings were compiled into a detailed PRD (Product Requirement Document) with the help of my PM and other product members; outlining current capabilities and proposition for a new approach.
I needed to take completely siloed forms and survey products and fuse them into a single, seamless platform.

Key Features
Considering feedback from the first, I iterated option 2 with the following improvements:
Abbreviated - Converted the OEE widget into a scorecard widget which only gives the present dayโs data.
Increased discoverability - Refined the interaction pattern by which the heat map would filter both the asset summary and events, to allow users to quickly identify what they need to see.
Conclusion & next steps
This project is still very much in motion. Right now, I'm actively scaling the AI prototype using Claude to integrate Simpplrโs design system components and build out a complete, high-fidelity frontend.
